This collar uses a two-stage system: it first emits a high-frequency tone your dog can hear (but you can't), and if the barking continues it adds a gentle vibration. Most dogs learn to associate barking with the tone alone within a week. There is no electric shock — this is a tone + vibration trainer, not a shock collar.
